The nearest form of public transport is the local aluguer (shared minibus) stop in the centre of Santa Maria, approximately 250 metres (3 minutes’ walk) from The Colonial Saloon. Aluguers provide inexpensive shared transport to destinations across Sal Island, including Espargos and Amílcar Cabral International Airport.
