Today, 2nd July 2026, my Celticbars website reaches the grand old age of 25. From a very basic site in 2001 to one that is fully automatic and utilising Google Maps to great effect. Giving Celticbars access to your location automatically gives you the nearest CSC as you move about. This is Google using your current postcode and no information comes to Celticbars. To the best of my knowledge, the site is as up-to-date as I know, and I am always grateful to those who keep me right with any additions or changes. Before the start of every season, I always put a request out for supporters to have a look at the bars in their area and give me a heads-up if the information has changed. The new season is about five weeks away, but no harm in asking you all to have a look now and let me know if any changes are needed. That would be appreciated.

I am always looking at ways to improve the site, and I'm currently going through every bar and using AI (Chatgpt) for the nearest public transport details, including buses, trams, trains and taxi ranks to have as much detail on the page to make it much easier for supporters to visit the bars. Here is an example of what I am doing.

The site recently migrated to a new server which will ensure a more stable and faster performance, and it is in good hands for the foreseeable future. Running the site for the last 25 years has been a true labour of love. Writing a book about it was something I could never have imagined me doing. Too many old disbanded clubs lost their priceless history in the midst of time, and I am so glad I did it to preserve the histories of the present day CSCs for reference and posterity for years to come. The only difference between the Brake Club pioneers in the late 1880s and the supporters clubs throughout the years is the mode of transport. The passion, dedication, hopes, and dreams of the fans have never changed.

Celtic Supporters Clubs were here before us and will be here long after we are all gone. Over the last 25 years, I am proud to have played my own small part in helping the fantastic tradition of CSCs thrive so that they continue to follow in the footsteps of our forefathers and play their part in the success of the club we all love.

Supporters Clubs are the lifeblood of Celtic FC.
