Always good to see an interesting site about Portsmouth’s famous pubs & bars. For those that are interested the Owtback Bar in Southsea has a website at: www.owtback.com that is full of jokes and with a gallery section where drinkers can upload their photos. There’s also a strong rugby membership too.

Charlie & the Bhoys have not split up!! I saw them in Stirling last Sunday. I asked about all the romours and I was told Mick the singer has went a bit loopy and took a year out....but Charlie was singing just as good if not better than him. Rest of the band is the same as well!! Hail the Bhoys It was the same when the wolfetones went down to 3 no big deal!! God...Imagine we lost the 2 best bands in 1 year! but, I'm glad both are still around forever!

I've just received an e-mail stating that Charlie & the Bhoys are doing The Barrowlands on Good Friday!! I'll be there! I also heard if the police get their way (and they have so far by banning every Irish/Celtic band apart from CATB & Wolfetones) it could be the last one by either band if there's trouble!! And thats from a reliable source! HAIL HAIL

I am writing to enquire about any possible openings you may have at your pub / festival for traditional Irish musicians. I come from Carlow, Rep. Of Ireland and have been in the traditional music circle for the last 15 years. Both myself and members of our club in Carlow have traveled to various locations around the world, including the US, China, Africa, and Europe where we played in locations and premises similar to your own. Next month (February), a group of us are traveling to Tokyo, Japan to take part in the annual Traditional Performing Arts Festival. Along side us will be representatives from Korea, Egypt, Turkey and others. I invite you to look at http://www.carlowtrad.com for further information concerning us. You can also find ballpark figures with regards to fees we would expect. Please feel free to download and listen to the various music clips included on our site. This will give you an idea of our standard of music and also the kind of music we play. I have included a link to a democd on our web site to see if you would be interested in taking on our group for festival / gig purposes. http://www.carlowtrad.com/democds/democds.htm
